Walk in Shakespeare’s footsteps, hear tales of his family life, enjoy live theatre and get up close to rare artefacts from a world class collection. Explore the world that Shakespeare grew up in and immerse yourself in the history that surrounds his upbringing. Take part in ‘Children’s Trails’, full of puzzles, quizzes and treasure hunts for the whole family to enjoy and have a read of the ‘Giant Wallbook’ or Shakespeare – 38 plays on a timeline that stretches over 9 metres!

Anne Hathaway’s Cottage

Open 10am-4pm

Are you a lover of history and romance? Then we suggest you visit the world famous Anne Hathaway’s Cottage in Shottery; this 600-year old cottage was the childhood home of Shakespeare’s wife and has been a tourist hot-spot for centuries; full of original family furniture and features it is sure to keep you entertained.

Anne Hathaway’s Cottage is a thatched farmhouse surrounded by spectacular grounds and gardens, which overflow with beautiful blossoms and traditional shrubs. Take a stroll through nine acres of garden, heritage orchards, woodland walks and the Sculpture Trail or simply relax and enjoy a picnic lunch or tea. Plus, every weekend between April – October you can keep the kids entertained at the Nature-themed family activity tent!

Stratford-upon-Avon Butterfly Farm

Open 10am-5.30pm

Come rain or shine enjoy discovering hundreds of the world’s most outstanding butterflies, flying in an exotic environment full of beautiful blooms, splashing waterfalls and fish-filled pools. The perfect afternoon adventure for families or couples; explore the Flight Area and see some of the world’s largest moths, camouflaged caterpillars and watch butterflies hatching from their cocoon in the Emerging Cage.
